2009 Meetings
November 13, 14, & 15: Kaba E-Plex 5000 Pushbutton Electronic Lock. Bass Pro Shop, Sevierville (Kodak), TN. Rick Shuford, CRL, KABA Product Trainer; A hands on class on installing and programing the E-Plex 5000 Electronic Pushbutton lock. The student received an E-Plexx 5000 Electronic Pushbutton lock, a demonstration mount, and Plex Standard Software 3.0 (an $1180.00 value).
July 11 & 12; Tunica, MS (West TN); Safe Manipulation; Ryan Taylor, Lockmasters instructor; A class that teaches the student how to find the combination of dial combination locks by operating the lock.
March 14 & 15; Nashville, TN
- Fundamentals of Locksmithing 101 (8 CEUs or 8 QEUs); Robert Mock, a locksmith for over 30 years; The student will learn basic terms of the industry and a working knowledge of the daily functions of a locksmith including some hands on practice in basic skills.
- Fundamentals of Locksmithing 102 (8 CEUs or 8 QEUs); Robert Mock; A more in depth look at masterkeying, access systems, and commercial hardware, cylinder masterkeying, lock bypass methods, and key machine care and maintainence.
- Locksmith Business Accounting (8 CEUs): Mark Blum, CPS; An introduction to general accounting and how it specifically relates to a locksmith business including inventory control.
2008 Meetings
October 18 & 19; Alcoa, TN; C. D. Lipscomb
- Electronic Safe Lock Servicing (8 CEUs): A one day class introducing the most common electronic safe locks and servicing the Tidel Cash handler safes. The student also received three DVDs of lock servicing instructions and photographs.
- Lockshop Management (2 CEUs): The student learns techniques to enhance service, cash flow, credit, and collection in his shop.
May 31; Nashville, TN; Meeting with Deparment of Commerce & Insurance
April 19 & 20; Nashville, TN; Tom Demont, AHC, CIL, CML, CAI, director of sales and marketing for ASSA High Security Locks, New Haven, CT.
- Life Safety Codes: The student will be made faniliar with Building and Fire Codes pertaining to hardware, means of egress, ADA hardware, doors and lables, and Underwriters Laboratories testing procedures. The new International Building and Fire Code IBC-2006, NFPA 80-1999-2007, 101-2006, and Door and Hardware Institute Guide to the ADA Act of 1990.
- ASSA Certification: The student will be familiar with the ASSA keying system and the ASSA standard Twin, Twin Exclusive, Twin Pro, and Twin V-10 mortise, rim, cabinet, desk, IC, and utility lock cylinders used in the system. The student will review and understand the C4 system.

The two day class helps owners learn the difference between owners and managers, what is meant by managing, how to read, understand, and use a financial statement as a tool, and how to budget.
June 24 & 25; Chattanooga, TN; PureAuto Weekend in cooperation with Lockmasters. Classes and seminar taught by Randy Mize, Jeff Cooper, Steve Young, Jeff Trepanier, David Taylor, Stott Said, and Michael Yarberry.
